Outstanding Graduate Research Award

The CORD Graduate Research Award recognizes an outstanding research paper (or papers) prepared by individuals currently pursuing graduate studies. Papers will be evaluated based on their originality of research, articulation of argument, and clarity of writing. The paper should have a scope and length appropriate for a conference presentation.

Any individual enrolled in a graduate program at the time of paper submission is eligible
. The student does not have to be a CORD member at the time of submission, but she or he will have to be a CORD member in order to accept the award.

The recipients of the 2013 award will be recognized as part of the awards reception at the CORD conference in Riverside, California.  The award recipient’s registration fee for the conference will be waived.

Submission Procedures:
Individuals interested in having their work considered for the award will submit an electronic copy of the completed paper to Ashanti Pretlow at ashanti@cordance.org, as well as the abstract required for all proposals (see Conference Guidelines) by April 29, 2013.  Full papers should be no longer than 12 pages, not including the bibliography, which should be attached or listed in footnotes. All submissions must be typed in 12-point font, double-spaced, and have page numbers included on each page. Since there will be a blind review process, the name of the author should not appear in the paper, but should be attached on a separate cover sheet that lists the author’s name, university affiliation, and contact information.  Please include 2013 Graduate Award Nomination as the email subject line.
